Apr 8, 2022

Pot Vote! US house Of Representatives Passed Federal marijuana Legalization Bill on April 1, local time!!! This bill has been passed with 220-204 vote.

This legislation would legalize marijuana nationwide and eliminating criminal penalties for anyone who manufactures, distributes or possesses the substance !

This bill is named The MORE Act, which would not only decriminalize marijuana but also reinvest in communities harmed by the war on drugs and provide for expungement of certain cannabis convictions, according to related published news.

This is not the first vote. Last bill has been voted on 2020. With a similar bill passed, the GOP-controlled Senate declined to take it up, but lawmakers are hopeful that growing public support and a Democratic majority in the chamber could spur action.

Hope this vote can step further. This is not a smooth path. However, it can not stop us.

A 2021 Pew survey found that 91 percent of U.S. adults polled supported some form of legalization, although 31 percent said it should be for medical use only.

According to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-CalifThis: landmark legislation is one of the most important criminal justice reform bills in recent history,” said in remarks on the floor Thursday about the measure.

With fast step of Marijuana, as still many people concern about its bad effects, ban is not a good way any more. Laws should catch up to minimize the abuse. And it shall be a guideline to lead those people to a good way.
